Design your brand for the places it actually lives
A brand book looks great in a presentation. The real test is a phone screen, a three-second scroll and a landing page that has to convert.

Brand and performance marketing are often run by different people with different goals. Brand teams protect consistency; performance teams want whatever works this week. The result is an identity that was never designed for the surfaces where most customers meet it.
Start with the smallest canvas
Before finalizing an identity, put it on a square social ad, a story frame, a mobile landing page and a search ad extension. If the logo disappears, the colors fail contrast, or the typeface becomes unreadable at small sizes, it is better to learn that before launch than after.
Build a system, not a set of rules
- Define a small number of layout patterns that work for fast production.
- Give performance teams room to test messages inside clear brand boundaries.
- Include motion guidance, since most attention now happens in video.
- Write the voice down with examples of what to say and what to avoid.
A strong brand makes performance marketing cheaper over time, because recognition lowers the cost of every click. A brand designed with performance in mind gets there faster.
